Focus Crossroads is a division of Russell Marketing Research, Inc., a market research recruiting firm headquartered in East Rutherford, New Jersey. We connect research teams with expert and consumer participants through our nationwide recruiting network and our premium NYC-area focus group facility.

This policy explains how we handle your information when you visit our website at focuscrossroads.com, contact us, or communicate with us by phone, email, or text message. Information We Collect

Information you provide

We collect information you voluntarily submit through our website forms:

  • Contact form — your name, email address, company name, project type, and an optional project description. We use this to respond to your inquiry.
  • Panel signup forms — if you apply to join our consumer panel or expert network, we collect additional information such as your phone number, address, date of birth, professional details, and demographic information. Our Respondent Privacy Policy covers how this data is handled in full detail.
  • Direct communications — if you contact us by phone, email, text message, through a paper form or service agreement, or in person, we may collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, company, communication preferences, and the content of your communications.
  • SMS consent records — when you agree to receive text messages, we may record your mobile phone number, the date and time of consent, the method used to obtain consent, and your opt-in or opt-out status.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we collect limited, non-personal information to understand how the site is used and to keep it secure:

  • Analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across sites. It provides us with aggregated metrics like page views and visit counts.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs basic request data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. These logs are used for security and performance monitoring and are retained per Cloudflare's standard data retention policies.
  • Security verification — our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a CAPTCHA alternative that verifies you are a real person. This may involve analyzing browser characteristics but does not use traditional tracking cookies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Responding to inquiries — when you submit our contact form, we use your information to follow up on your request. Our team receives an email notification so we can respond promptly.
  • Providing conversational support — if you consent to text messaging, we use your mobile number to answer questions, provide customer support, coordinate appointments, and send service-related updates. We do not use this conversational messaging program to send marketing or promotional messages.
  • Processing panel applications — when you sign up for our research network, we validate your contact information to maintain panel quality. This involves third-party validation services described below.
  • Improving the website — aggregated analytics help us understand which pages are useful and where we can improve.
  • Preventing fraud — rate limiting, honeypot fields, and Cloudflare Turnstile help us prevent spam and fraudulent form submissions.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate and protect our website. Each service receives only the minimum data necessary for its function:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, Web Analytics, and Turnstile bot protection.
  • Microsoft Azure — our backend application and database are hosted on Azure. Application Insights is used for error tracking and performance monitoring.
  • Microsoft 365 — we use Microsoft Graph API to send email notifications when a contact form is submitted.
  • Grasshopper — our business phone and messaging provider, used to transmit and receive customer calls and text messages.
  • NeverBounce — email address validation for panel signup forms.
  • NumVerify — phone number validation for panel signup forms.
  • Melissa Data — mailing address validation for consumer panel signup forms.

Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform services for us and may use it only for business operations and service delivery. We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.

SMS Privacy and Data Sharing

We use your phone number to send SMS updates, including customer support messages, appointment coordination and confirmations, account notifications, and service updates.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing is limited to what is necessary to provide our services.

We do not sell, share, rent, or transfer consumer data, including SMS opt-in data and phone numbers, to external organizations under any circumstances, even with user consent, except as required by law.

Customer data is not shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.

SMS consent data and mobile opt-in information are not sold, shared, rented, or transferred to external organizations except as required by law. Other personal information may be disclosed only for the essential business operations and service-delivery purposes described in this policy, or when required by law.

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, or sharing of user data.

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP. After we send a confirmation of your opt-out, you will no longer receive messages from that messaging program unless you opt in again.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website has a minimal cookie footprint:

  • Analytics cookies — none. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless.
  • Advertising cookies — none. We do not run ads or use tracking pixels.
  • Functional cookies — Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie when you interact with a form to verify your session. This is strictly functional and is not used for tracking.

Because we do not use analytics or advertising cookies, most visitors will not encounter any cookie prompts on our site.

Data Retention

  • Contact form submissions are retained for up to two years, after which they are deleted.
  • Panel member data is retained for as long as you are an active member of our research network. See our Respondent Privacy Policy for details.
  • Server logs are retained per Cloudflare's standard retention periods.

Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or sharing. These safeguards include written access and confidentiality practices, access limited to authorized employees and service providers with a business need, encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, secure Microsoft Azure hosting, CAPTCHA verification, rate limiting, and physical controls for systems and records under our control.

While no system is completely secure, we are committed to protecting your information and will promptly notify affected individuals in the unlikely event of a data breach.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal information from our systems
  • Opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP or using another method described above

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes that affect how we use your personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
